I'm a sophomore Finance major at the University of Iowa, and I'm considering transferring (for outside reasons, nothings final) to either the University of Minnesota (Carlson School of Business) or Marquette (School of Business Administration). I both love and hate the University of Iowa, but for the most part I have nothing but good things to say about the Tippie School of Business. I'm a Finance major at the moment, but I'm also looking at Economics, Accounting and Management, along with really wanting to look into potential international business/studies courses or Minor. The Questions I would love opinions and suggestions on are: 1) Which school - from an academic standpoint only - offers the best preparation for the business world? 2) Which is the better overall school? (Minnesota, Iowa, or Marquette) 3) Which school has the best department for each focus? (Finance, Accounting, Econ, & Mgmt) 4) From an employers standpoint, which school would you rather see on a resume? (assuming identical performance & applying for a major Midwestern bank/corp. (i.e. Target, 3M, Best Buy, Pipper Jaffrey, US Bank Corps.) 5) I plan to study abroad, does going to a major player such as London or Hong Kong give me an edge? And Marquette has a special degree combining International Business Major with another Business Major (i.e. Accounting/Finance/Mgmt), would this be a game-changer (relatively)? Outside opinions will help me out a lot! Thanks a lot to everyone in advance!... Read More »
